The Newest Craze

For the longest time, we had this yarn at my work, and it was overflowing, spilling out of the bins.  We would groan and sign every time more came in and we had to stock it because there JUST was not room.  Little did I know how wildly popular this stuff was going to get come Christmas time.  We can't keep it in stock!  I figured I love scarves in every shape and size, so I decided to learn how to knit these beauties.  I've done 3 so far, and they turn out SO pretty!  Case in point: 

The color on this one is called Jive Sashay and is by Red Heart Boutique.  It's gorgeous!  There are so many color combinations and each one turns out so fun.  There are 3 different types of this ruffle yarn that I'm aware of, Starbella, Sashay, and Pirouette.  If you want one of these, I'd be happy to knit you one for $20.  Just let me know your color preferences and I'll see what I can find.  The yarn is getting harder and harder to find locally right now, but I should be able to order them online.

We recently upgraded the camera (the old one wouldn't focus in zoom anymore) to a DSLR, which I'm totally stoked about, so look for improved pictures of my crafts AND new photos of crafts already posted soon!  I'm excited to learn how to use it, and who knows, you may start seeing photography stuff showing up here on the blog too...

Disney Countdown

As many of my friends and family know, a Disneyland vacation is in our near future.  I couldn't very well go to Disney without some lovely Mickey earrings, could I?  These are actually for my friend Tina, and I'm making another pair in pink for her, but mine will be quite similar to these.  I stuck with basic Disney colors, so there are yellow and white fire-polished glass beads, silver heart charms, red Swarovski crystals, and size 11 black seed beads.  If you want to order a pair of your own, they're only $10!  Let me know what color you want your Mickey head to be and if you have a preference on charms colors as well.

Falling Leaves

Crisp fall days are on their way, bringing with them Thanksgiving and other fall festivities!  Look fabulous with these fun fall leaves dangling from your ears.  These are made from size 11 brown seed beads in 2 colors and topped with a brown Swarovski crystal.  They measure 1-3/4 inches from top of hook to tip of leaf and are $12.

Dreaming of Snow!

Or snowflakes anyway!  These are made with slate blue and white size 11 Delica beads, and topped with  pinkish-white Swarovski crystal.  I can make the background in any color you like and can use regular seed beads as well to make them a little larger, though I think the Delicas turn out a lot better. These measure 2 inches from top of the hook to the bottom-most tip.  Priced at only $12 for the snow bunny in you!

Christmas Tree Earrings

These festive earrings are made with green, red, brown, and white silver-lined size 11 seed beads.  They measure 2 inches from top of hook to bottom of trunk.  Get your own pair for only $15!

Custom Earrings

I made these beauties for a friend who does belly dancing.  I love the color combination and would be likely to use it again!  These are made with size 11 pink Delica beads, size 11 turquoise and white AB seed beads, and white bugle beads.  They measure approximately 4-1/2 inches from top of hook to bottom of fringe.  If you're interested in ordering a pair in any color combination, cost is only $20!
